Everything's all coming up green!

(it's best as pre-music, it's rather slow to be using during the program)
Green de dum, greeny grin green. Green, green green . . .
(walking along, on a stroll with the Laptime Box in my arms)
Oh, hello there everyone! What a surprise to see all of you here!
You know, you are just in time!
I'm on a hunt. A big hunt!
I'm looking for Green.
See, I've heard a lot of people talking about going green and well,
I just figured I needed to find green before I go turning green. Gotta see if I like it, you know? I mean, really now, what if tastes funny, or what if it's big and gigantic and huge and it won't fit in my bedroom and it squashes my bed and I don't want it anymore and it won't go away!
No?
You say it's not like that?
It's a color?? Like in the rainbow?
Phew. What a relief. I'm still trying to figure out what it IS.
Guess what though, my friends have put together this box of green for me, I'm going to see what we have . . .
Hmm, it's a book.
(pull book out of the box)
Hah!
It looks like I'm not the only one having hard time finding green . . .

So that's green!
He's the same color as a bush!
And a bush is green too!
What else do we have in the box . . .

(I use a flannel version, saving the frog for the last)
Ooooh, Frogs! Frogs are Green!
I know frogs. Ribbit Ribbit.
(Reading in Bed is Terrific! Ribit!)
No? Yes?
(go back to the box and pull out... FROGS!)
Five Green and Speckled Frogs
Five green and speckled frogs
Sat on a speckled log,
Eating the most delicious bugs,
Yum, yum.
One jumped into the pool
Where it was nice and cool,
("get your 'fours' out, can you show me 4?" - little ones are SO much fun to watch as they try to get the right amount of fingers up!)
Now there are four green speckled frogs
Glub, glub.
Four green and speckled frogs
Sat on a speckled log . . .
(diving into the box again, we find...book/flannel/puppet version - whatever works for the age you've got today)

(once more to the box, and it's a TURTLE!)
I Had a Little Turtle
I had a little turtle,
His name was Tiny Tim
I put him in the bathtub
To see if he could swim.
He drank up all the water
He ate up all the soap,
And now he's sick in bed
With a bubble in his throat.
Hiccup!
big
-blow a bubble, hands expand larger and larger as we go
Bigger
BIGGEST
-watch out, turn your head away, get ready, and . . .
POP!
-clap!
Wow, that was fun!
Let's see what else we have in our box . . .
(reach into box again, shy away- really ham this one up - act VERY worried, scared and timid.)
Uh, I think we are done now.
Yep.
I don't think we can do this next one.
Nope. Not at all.
It's, well, it's . . .
scary (said in that very timid scared voice)
You really want to see it?
No, I don't think so.
You DO think so?
Are you sure?
Oh, oh...okay, but don't say I didn't warn you,
(pull the felt green circle for the beginnings of Go Away Big Green Monster--I really work this one up, you can have the kids rolling in the aisles if you do this right--as you put each item on the green flannel face, you can hardly stand to touch it, it's so scary! Add sound effects, some zoops and schwoops as you take away parts for the last half.)
